I was on this Flint Hills ranch for a day of roundup. Starting before dawn, the ranch hands gathered three hundred head of calves and walked them overland about 3 miles to the ranch headquarters to be weighed and put on trucks. I stayed behind on a hilltop as the low morning clouds got more and more interesting. Most of the area stayed dry, but a small cloudburst a mile or two beyond gave an isolated soaking.
