Farming is the principal industry in Sumner County, in south-central Kansas. Known as the "Wheat Capital of the World", the county regularly produces more wheat and grain sorghum than any other Kansas county. Near Wellington, Sumner County, Kansas. June 8, 2005.
The sun was already out-of-sight, but the cloud canopy was lit pinkish-orange from horizon to horizon. Big bluestem grass turns reddish-brown in the fall, and the light from the clouds made the color even more saturated. Kingman County, Kansas. October 17, 2004.
